The research is to be completed in time for an honors thesis to be written and an oral presentation of the work to be given at the end of the eighth semester. Because each professor can advise only a limited number of honors students each year, there sometimes are more students interested in conducting research than there are openings with advisors.
Candidates in Linguistics must have completed the core course requirement.
Candidates in BDS must speak with the concentration advisor.
However, it is the honors candidate’s responsibility to approach potential readers by clearly communicating the thesis topic and outlining the reader’s responsibilities.
